What is Origen Oil?
Origen Oil is a privately owned, independent South African oil company that manufactures and markets a comprehensive range of automotive and industrial lubricants, chemical cleaners, and specialized petrochemical products. With ISO 9001:2015 certification from Dekra, Origen Oil delivers products that exceed industry standards and carry both International (American Petroleum Institute) and Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) approvals.
The Vision Behind Origen Oil: Trevor Pothecary's Leadership
At the helm of Origen Oil is Trevor Pothecary, a visionary CEO with deep roots in South Africa's lubricants industry. Pothecary's journey in the petroleum sector began with Indy Oil, which he founded in 2000. Under his leadership, Indy Oil grew from humble beginnings into a nationally recognized independent manufacturer and marketer of automotive and industrial lubricants.
In 2013, G.U.D. Holdings acquired Indy Oil, recognizing the company's success and Pothecary's leadership capabilities. The acquisition announcement highlighted that Pothecary would remain in the business, bringing his expertise and vision forward. Today, as CEO of Origen Oil, Pothecary continues to drive innovation and excellence, sharing his insights on the future of the lubricants industry and maintaining the company's commitment to quality and service.
His leadership philosophy centers on delivering products that are "above and beyond" industry standards while ensuring unmatched service excellence—a principle that has become synonymous with the Origen Oil brand.
